Rebecca sat at one of the tables, feet pulled up onto the seat as she hugged her stockinged legs. The...gruel in front of her made her nose wrinkle, as she was used to a more... substantial diet. She kept her eye on the supervisers, knowing they would be more than happy enough to shove the 'food' down her throat if given an open oppurtunity. The inmate though, tried to distance herself from the others, sitting at the end of the table with a space between her and the closest girl, leaving a stool in between the two. She picked up her spoon and swirled it around the lumpy and revolting mixture in her bowl, playing with her food to avoid too much suspicion. Along with playing with her food, she curled up as small as she possibly could to stay away from any additional unwanted attention from the staff. She began to sing softly under her breath, her gaze growing distant with her brief lapse of concentration and sleep depravation. Even though her stomach hurt from no food for a while now, Rebecca easily ignored it, these feelings being normal for her. Her eyes snapped up at a small scuffle from the opposite table, but it died down quickly and was over, leaving her bored once again as she dropped her spoon, ignoring the mess.

Flora was led by a vicious looking attendant, to a table where a girl sat. After receiving a punishment for disrespecting authority, she was brutally sore. She was pushed into a chair roughly, and was told to eat. The attendant walked away to speak to a chaser that was only a few feet away. The chaser nodded his head, and glared towards Flora. Flora knew the attendant had told him to keep an eye on her. The nurse turned to glare at her one more time before leaving the dining hall, leaving Flora under the supervision of the chasers.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I was in punishment. I know how much all of us hate it when one more authoritative figure appears." Flora sighed for a moment then looked down at the bowl of gruel in front of her. She wrinkled her nose at the revolting smell. How could the Asylum get away with this? Surely she was used to this sludge by now, but hardly did she eat. Her bones were protruding out like a skeleton. Looking up towards the girl sitting across the table, she decided to make conversation.
"Hello," Flora said in a kind, but stressed tone. Every inch of her body was aching, and she bit her lip, trying to forget about the pain.

Rebecca watched as the attendant walked away, keeping her eyes on the pair until it seemed that she would not be noticed for not eating anything. Her eye slowly turned to the girl opposite, her face blank as her mind whirred. 'Friend or foe?' she thought, looking into Flora's eyes as she tried to process whether the girl could be trusted. She nodded slightly, pushing the bowl away slightly once she was sure her act would go unnoticed by any staff. She slowly lowered her legs until her feet touched the hard, cold floor so she could get a better look at Flora.
"Hello." She repeated quietly, tugging anxiously on her chains, not knowing who the girl was but knowing she was not in any of the cells near her in Ward B. "I'm Rebecca. What's your name?" She asked, keeping her sentences short and quiet, not sure if either would get in trouble for conversing with the other. She knew most of the nurses and chasers were unreasonable and harsh, wondering why and how the new girl got punished.

Flora noticed the girl covered in chains. She had never seen her before, and her appearance intrigued her. She wondered why the Asylum would decide to chain someone like that, but then realized that there were two different wards to this hell. Ward B was where the more dangerous girls were kept. Flora had heard stories of girls in Ward B being left there for days. She smiled towards the girl in a friendly way, trying not to show her angst. The bowl that was sitting before the girl opposite her was pushed slightly away. Her face held disgust, and Flora couldn't blame her. This 'food' was repulsive. Flora picked up her spoon, and dipped it into the bowl, getting some onto it. She wrinkled or nose again before placing the utensil into her mouth. The taste was vile in her mouth. She quickly swallowed the contents, and tried to hide her disgusted groan.
She looked towards the girl again, nodding to her. "Hello," she said again. "I'm Flora." She said, trying to chase down the gruel with her saliva. Removing her hand from the spoon, she hugged herself, providing at least a shred of comfort to her. She hated it here, and longed for freedom. Freedom from this place was never a possibility. All who were committed were here for life. The way of depression overtook Flora for a moment. Flora tried her best to behave. She knew she was already in enough trouble with Miss. Lightwood and Miss. Estheridge. One of these days, Dr. Bramsfield will truly know everything, and that day, she hoped would never happen.

Rebecca looked surprised as the girl dared a spoonful of the gruel, noticing the instant look of disgust on her face and smiling slightly, ducking her head to hide it. Her nails clenched into the skin of her arms as she looked around at every person -inmate or staff- in the hall, wishing she could have one of them in a bowl instead of whatever this was made from. Her eyes then landed on the girl opposite, trailing her eyes across any sighting of exposed skin, quickly snapping herself out of her reverie as she heard the girl talk
Flora. What a unique name. "Where do they lock you up?" Rebecca asked, suprisingly trying to start a conversation, but also refusing to call it anything but what is was. It was not a room, but a cell. She for one, was certainly not in their by her own choice. The shackles the doctor had so kindly provided her proved that point. She was seen as an animal, probably like most other girls here too. She wondered why the other girl was even here, she had seemed fairly complacent for now, but then again, so had Rebecca. She certainly did not want another run in with The Cell, leeches or even Dr.Bramsfield for as long as possible.

Flora felt oddly composed at this point, surprised River had not came to attack her again. She could feel the uneasiness of the girl sitting across from her, unsure of it was something Flora had done or said. When the girl asked her where she was kept, she sighed. The cells they were all confined to did nothing but make her feel less human. "I'm locked up in Ward A." She shrugged nonchalantly. "I'm hardly in my cell at all anymore. I'm usually in Lymer's Lab." Flora sighed, and bit her lip nervously. She had never seen this girl before, and wondered where she was held. "What about you?" She asked casually, knowing the answer already. Usually the girls locked up in Ward B were considered highly dangerous, that explains the chains and restraints.
