(OOC: This post is a continuation of the last part of the History on my inmate form.)
Anna awoke several hours later, her head and face throbbing with pain. She tasted blood in her mouth and wondered if she was laying in bed because she had fallen ill. She could not remember a thing. Almost nothing.
She made to get up and out of bed but couldn't. She looked and saw her hands were tied to one of the bed posts. "Mother! Father! Something is wrong! Please, come!" She called to them in a more confused tone than a scared one.
Anna heard frantic voices downstairs. Angry sounding. This only confused her more. "I just need help." She said to herself. She sat quietly, listening to the voices, trying to hear meaning behind the words. ".... awake.... never.... in such a form.... honestly scared for.... never has.... this violent." None of it made sense to Anna, she concluded it best to give up and merely sit there in the dark in silence.
The door opened, Anna was greeted by her father holding a lantern and two men she had never seen before. "... Good evening, sirs-" She managed awkwardly "Papa, I cannot-" "That is her." Marcellus interrupted. "This bird? Violent?" Asked one of the men. "Yes." He answered. The two men went forward and untied Anna's hands.
"I feel an explanation is due, gentlemen." Anna said to the men quietly.
They ignored her. "Heavy restraints." One asked the other. The other nodded. "Excuse me?" Anna asked bewildered. One of the men pinned Anna down. "Please don't touch me... Let me go..." There was a lump in her throat, she could barely manage a whisper. The other man put her in a straight-jacket and clipped a leash on a ring around the collar of the jacket. "Father... father..." She looked to Marcellus, her voice a hoarse squeak, tears flooded her eyes. "You are not worth any of the treatment they give you." He replied coldly.
Anna was pulled out of her room and down the stairs by her leash. She was lead through the main-entrance and out to the path that leads to and from their handsome home. Outside stood an eerie yet beautiful chariot led by two horses, by it stood Anna's mother, her face was stained with tears. "Mother-" Anna begged. "Please." Charlotte said to the man holding Anna's leash. The man nodded and allowed the mother and daughter to have a moment.
"Mummy, mummy-" "Ssh, ssh, ssh," Charlotte interrupted caressing her daughter's face. "Listen to me, Anna-Lynne," Charlotte put her hands on either side of Anna's face "you are going to get the best help that is provided in Europe. You are ill, but you are going to get better. This is to help you. We want you better so you can come home. These doctors will cure you. They will take good care of you, my sweet." Charlotte cooed, sincere tears brimming her eyes, tears Anna had not seen her mother produce in a very long while. "I will not be gone long?" Anna asked in a whisper. "No, my dear. I love you." Charlotte whispered back, kissing Anna on her forehead. She then nodded to the man and he tugged Anna's leash and pushed her into the carriage.
She was quiet and compliant the entire ride. Watching the darkness outside rush by them. And then she saw them. The heavy iron gates. She wondered where they were. They passed another pair of gates. And then another. This must be a very important establishment, Anna thought, to have so many gates protecting it.
The carriage came to a stop. Anna was yanked by her leash and pulled out of the carriage. She was awed by the gorgeous yet grim looking building. Tall, eerie, huge, and dark. She could see only one lit window. Where are we? She wondered. Apparently she had been marveling the sight for quite a while because she was suddenly yanked back into reality and led up the stone set of stairs that led to the entrance of the building.
