Wynter smiled at him letting out a small giggle. "Don't worry I never thought that until you said it. I know you would never do anything to hurt me or the child, not now at least," she said closing her eyes slowly as exhausten began to drown her senses again. "Thank you darling," she murmured before she slipped back to sleep.

He watched her sleep with a tired boredom in his eyes, finding nothing else to do and no motivation to move himself thanks to the excruciating pain that, even in stillness, left shockwaves to ripple over his body from head to toe.
